Maryland Center for School Safety to Host Training in Montgomery County

Training Sessions will focus on Active Shooter procedures

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Center for School Safety and the ALICE Training Institute will hold two-two day Active Shooter Training sessions on April 6 and 7 as well as on April 24 and 25.

The training sessions will be held at the Fairland Elementary Holding School in Silver Spring, a surplus Montgomery County Public School that is used as a temporary holding school. The Center is partnering with the Montgomery County Public Schools to hold training at the facility.

The crucial training is designed for Maryland local public and private school system security/safety directors, school resource officers and other law enforcement officers such as academy and specialized tactical unit staff. In addition, school risk managers, school administrators, and school psychologists are attending the training to observe the impact of active shooter response to students and staff.
