Lt. Governor to Help Maryland Students Celebrate ‘Walk Maryland Day’

Event at Rolling Knolls Elementary Tomorrow to Spotlight the Importance of Physical Fitness

BALTIMORE – Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford will join elementary school students from Rolling Knolls Elementary in Anne Arundel County tomorrow to celebrate Walk Maryland Day.

The event, co-sponsored by the Governor’s Office for Children, University of Maryland Extension, and the Maryland State Department of Education, puts a focus on everyday fitness activities that can lead to a lifetime of good health. Also highlighted will be #Commit2Ten, a campaign designed to get Americans — including students — to engage in 10 more minutes of physical activity each day. Students will join the Lt. Governor for a brisk walk, and will show off some of their usual fitness activities.
