MSDE Sets Listening Tour to Gather Input for Every Student Succeeds Act
BALTIMORE–The Maryland State Department of Education has scheduled a series of five regional listening sessions designed to gather ideas for the State’s plan for the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Each State is in the process of updating its plans for school and student improvement in compliance with ESSA. Maryland has been developing its plan with broad stakeholder input for more than a year.
A draft of Maryland’s ESSA plan, along with a brief survey, was posted last week on the MSDE website, MarylandPublicSchools.org. The State Board of Education will make final decisions and approve the plan for submission to the U.S. Department of Education this summer.
Each listening session is scheduled to take place from 6-7:30 p.m.
