Grants Help Support Robotics Programs

BALTIMORE  – The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has awarded grants to twelve schools/districts and eight non-profit entities/partnerships in support of developing and expanding robotics programs.

Maryland’s Robotics Program was established by the 2016 General Assembly (House Bill 115) under the Education Article, Section 7-121 of the Annotated Code of Maryland. This state grant program supports funding for Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) related teaching and learning.

MSDE awarded a total of $250,000 for the 2019-2020 school year. Grants were awarded to schools, school systems, school/non-profit partnerships, and non-profit entities based upon student needs, outcomes, and satisfactory completion of all grant requirements.
