Lawton Conservation Loan Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which provides low-interest loans to Maryland businesses, local governments and state agencies for projects that promote energy efficiency, clean energy use and emissions reductions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Lawton Loan Program improves access to affordable capital and spurs energy efficiency and conservation projects in the built environment. It provides below-market rates to Maryland nonprofits and eligible businesses, and at zero financing cost to local governments and state agencies and departments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cLawton loans provide a dependable and versatile source of conservation funding for the state of Maryland. These loans have helped businesses and governments of a wide variety of types cut operating costs through capital investments, while reducing energy use and emissions along the way,\u201d <\/span><b>said Maryland Energy Administration Director Paul G. Pinsky.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cThe program also looks to award funds to projects that provide multiple types of benefits at the same time, so it is flexible and inspires creative approaches to conservation.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Lawton Loan Program will provide approximately $3 million in FY25 funding. This figure may be adjusted based on demand. The FY25 Lawton Loan Program is a first-come, first-serve loan program for qualifying borrowers subject to funding availability.
