The pilot program\u00a0 will support the design and installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar energy systems for a limited number of households that have received an energy audit and significant energy efficiency upgrades as part of MEA\u2019s Low-to-Moderate Income Energy Efficiency (LMI EE) Grant Program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This innovative program builds upon the community organization, nonprofit and local government capacity to deliver energy improvements developed under MEA\u2019s long standing LMI EE program, and adds access to clean energy, further expanding the annual energy cost savings realized by participating LI homeowners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An additional $1 million was added to the program bringing the total program budget to $1.5 million.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MEA anticipates issuing awards for up to 100% of the PV solar system design and installation costs, which may include limited funding for roof repair or replacement in the vicinity of the solar array, structural support of the roof (as needed), and mold remediation in areas needed to support the installation of the solar array and supporting equipment.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Projects must meet all <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/residential\/Documents\/1.%20FOA%20Low%20Income%20Solar%20Grant%20Program%20FY22%20R2%20Final%202.17.2022.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">eligibility requirements<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to be considered for funding.
