{"id":5638,"date":"2021-07-29T09:55:55","date_gmt":"2021-07-29T13:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/?p=5638"},"modified":"2021-07-29T11:04:10","modified_gmt":"2021-07-29T15:04:10","slug":"maryland-energy-administration-announces-the-fy22-public-facility-solar-grant-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2021\/07\/29\/maryland-energy-administration-announces-the-fy22-public-facility-solar-grant-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Maryland Energy Administration Announces the FY22 Public Facility Solar Grant Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is pleased to announce the opening of the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/govt\/Pages\/PublicFacilitySolarGrantProgram.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Public Facility Solar Grant Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on July 29, 2021. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This program provides grant funding to State, county or municipal government entities to support the planning and installation of solar arrays on the existing infrastructure of public facilities.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In FY22, $2,000,000 is available for this competitive grant program. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Grant assistance is available in two distinct Areas of Interest (AOI): AOI-1 provides funds for purchased systems, and AOI-2, which provides funds for 3rd party owned systems. AOI-1 and AOI-2 are available in each of two application windows. Grants of up to $125,000 are available for purchased solar systems. Third-party owned <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">rooftop arrays<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> may be awarded up to $200,000, while third-party owned <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">solar canopies<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> may be awarded up to $250,000.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Applications are considered during two distinct application periods. Applications for Round 1 are due<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">no later than<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monday, November 15, 2021. Applications for Round 2 are due no later than Thursday, February 17, 2022. Projects must meet all eligibility requirements to be considered for award funding. These projects were made possible by the FY21 Public Facility Solar Grant Program funded by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/Pages\/Strategic-Energy-Investment-Fund-(SEIF)-.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strategic Energy Investment Fund<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
