{"id":5629,"date":"2021-07-27T15:00:51","date_gmt":"2021-07-27T19:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/?p=5629"},"modified":"2021-07-28T10:11:22","modified_gmt":"2021-07-28T14:11:22","slug":"maryland-energy-administration-commercial-industrial-agricultural-grant-program-now-accepting-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2021\/07\/27\/maryland-energy-administration-commercial-industrial-agricultural-grant-program-now-accepting-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"Maryland Energy Administration Commercial, Industrial &amp; Agricultural Grant Program Now Accepting Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) is pleased to announce the opening of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/incentives\/empowermdcigp.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fiscal Year 2022 Commercial, Industrial, Agricultural Competitive Grant Program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on July 27, 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">MEA is providing the Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Commercial, Industrial &amp; Agricultural (CI&amp;A) Grant Program to Maryland businesses, industry, farms, and other agricultural entities for implementing energy-efficiency improvement projects to their facilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FY22 program has a total budget of $3,350,000, that will be divided into two separate application periods to accommodate energy efficiency projects that may be in varying planning stages for agriculture, manufacturing and businesses.\u00a0Grant assistance is available in two distinct Areas of Interest (AOI): AOI 1, Commercial and Industrial sector entities and AOI 2, Agricultural Entities. The FY22 CI&amp;A Program funding is available for projects that increase the energy efficiency of electric and non-electric fuel consumption of existing facilities or dedicated spaces within facilities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Applications for Round 1 will be accepted until Monday, October 27, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Projects must meet all eligibility requirements to be considered for award funding. P. Mathias Agriculture Energy Efficiency Program that\u00a0 was dedicated in the memory of Kathleen Arlee &#8220;Kathy&#8221; Petry\u200b Mathias of Ocean City, who passed away August 15, 2011 after a battle with cancer. The wife of Maryland State Senator James N. Mathias Jr., Kathy was an inexhaustible advocate for Maryland&#8217;s Eastern Shore and its farming community.
