Nonprofit organizations and local governments submit energy efficiency projects on behalf of citizens. Funding for this grant is made possible by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/Pages\/Strategic-Energy-Investment-Fund-(SEIF)-.aspx\"><b>Strategic Energy Investment Fund<\/b><\/a><b>.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> This grant received a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/01\/18\/empower-clean-energy-communities-low-to-moderate-income-grant-attracting-national-attention\/\"><b>Social Equity Award<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> for being a national model energy efficiency program in 2019. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In 2020, the nonprofit Community Action Council of Howard County, Inc. received $470,156 in total awards.
