Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21) programs are now open for <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/MEACHP.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Combined Heat and Power (CHP)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/incentives\/PVEVprogram.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Parking Lot Solar PV Canopy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/pages\/ResilientMaryland.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Resilient Maryland<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cPowering Maryland\u2019s clean energy future is an essential collaboration between the public and private sector,\u201d said Governor Larry Hogan. \u201cMaryland continues to lead by example and we are proud to dedicate resources that serve our community in these challenging economic conditions.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are backing Maryland businesses and key services with dynamic energy grants that leverage our skilled, clean energy workforce and build upon our previous successes,\u201d said Mary Beth Tung, MEA Director.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CHP systems combine technologies to maximize energy efficiency, reduce waste and offer cleaner, more resilient energy to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">critical infrastructure facilities like hospitals, wastewater treatment plants, and manufacturers across Maryland. CHP systems can also be implemented by businesses, multifamily housing facilities, and other industries where continuous access to reliable electricity and heat are needed. Total funding for the FY21 program is $3.3 million, which will be divided between two cycles. The application deadline for the first cycle is<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> October 2, 2020<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">; full details can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/MEACHP.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The MEA Parking Lot Solar PV Canopy program superchargers garages and lots by converting them into clean energy generation sites. This program also requires the addition of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, which adds to Maryland\u2019s expanding EV charging network. The FY21 cycle of the program has $1.6 million in available funding and the application period ends December 8, 2020; click <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/incentives\/PVEVprogram.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for program specifics.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/pages\/ResilientMaryland.aspx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Resilient Maryland <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">combines clean energy technology like CHP, energy storage, solar and similar technologies to enable essential services and organizations to outlast power disruptions and outages. Started last spring as a pilot, Resilient Maryland provides funding for feasibility analysis, planning, and design of cost-effective, replicable and scalable projects.
