Maryland Energy Administration launches grants aimed at supporting the #MarylandStrong economic recovery<\/h2>\n

The State of Maryland\u2019s new fiscal year 2021 (FY21) began on July 1 and initiated a new grant season at the <\/span>Maryland Energy Administration (MEA)<\/b><\/a>. We are proud to roll out a series of energy grants that support all Marylanders including residents, businesses, local governments and nonprofits. Below are just a few of the first group of programs to launch for FY21, for a complete list of MEA programs, please visit us online <\/span>here<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Business\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

The newest cycle of the <\/span>Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural (CI&A)<\/b><\/a> is offering up to $1.65 million in funding over three application periods. This grant helps to fund energy efficiency projects that enable businesses to realize new revenue streams from cost <\/span>savings. One past grantee yielded enough energy savings to realize <\/span>a net energy reduction <\/b><\/a>even after they added a second shift of workers. Residential\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Residential Renewable Energy Rebate program<\/b><\/a> provides financial assistance to homeowners installing solar photovoltaic (PV), solar shingles, solar water heating, geothermal heat pump, and geothermal heating and cooling systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nonprofit <\/i><\/b>
\n<\/span><\/a>
\nEarlier this month, MEA launched the <\/span>Low-to-Moderate Income Energy Efficiency grant<\/b> <\/a>that offers up to $6.5 million in funding. This grant supports local governments and nonprofits by funding energy efficiency projects specifically designed to serve low-to-moderate income Marylanders. This is a competitive program, which accounts for the regional distribution of low-to-moderate income homes throughout the state, to ensure equitable distribution. Applications are available on the <\/span>program web page<\/b><\/a> and are due by October 1, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

Transportation<\/i><\/b><\/a><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) rebate<\/b><\/a> is Maryland\u2019s most important electric vehicle (EV) program for FY21 with up to $1.8 million available for EV recharging equipment rebates. The aim of this program is to remove the cost barriers associated with switching to an EV. Apply today, <\/span>here<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
