FY 20 AFIP contains new terms and conditions, as a result of the Chapter 757 of the 2019 Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland (Clean Energy Jobs Act). Read about the new solar canopy at\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/05\/17\/fitzgerald-auto-mall-opens-new-solar-canopy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fitzgerald Auto Mall<\/a>, funded in part from MEA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\">Two FY 20 offshore wind grants are now open:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/Pages\/Info\/renewable\/offshorewindbusinessdevelopment.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maryland Offshore Wind Capex program<\/a>\u00a0with allotted funds of $1.6 million dollars and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/Pages\/Info\/renewable\/offshorewindworkforce.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maryland Offshore Wind Workforce Training Program<\/a>\u00a0with allotted funds of $1.2 million dollars.\u00a0Application deadline for both programs: October 1, 2019. Read more <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/07\/23\/two-new-maryland-offshore-wind-grants-open\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>FY 20\u00a0<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/transportation\/Pages\/incentives_evserebate.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Rebate Program 2.0<\/a>\u00a0applications are currently being processed for payment. Waitlisted FY19 applications will be processed in the order they were received. Via this program\u00a0residents, governments and businesses can acquire a state rebate for purchasing and installing an electric vehicle charging equipment. Learn more <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/07\/12\/charge-up-the-new-maryland-electric-vehicle-supply-equipment-rebate-program-is-accepting-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A total of $1.25 million in funding available for<a href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/07\/29\/1-25-million-in-funding-available-for-commercial-industrial-agricultural-energy-upgrade-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Commercial Industrial &amp; Agricultural energy upgrade<\/a> projects. Application deadline is Oct. 15 2019. To learn more about the stages of the grant, click <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/07\/29\/1-25-million-in-funding-available-for-commercial-industrial-agricultural-energy-upgrade-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/incentives\/DCEEG.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Data Center Energy Efficiency Grant Program (DCEEG)<\/a>\u00a0is the first of its kind program in the U.S., from a state energy office. This grant advocates for energy efficiency measures specifically for data centers that use \u00a0100 &#8211; 200 x more energy than a standard office. The FY 20 grant application deadline is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/incentives\/DCEEG.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">January 10, 2020<\/a>. DCEEG was a finalist for the <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2018\/11\/08\/maryland-energy-administration-nominated-for-2018-data-center-industry-initiative-of-the-year-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Global Data Center Awards <\/a>last December. Maryland&#8217;s data center program was one of six total U.S. finalists and the only program nominated from a U.S. state energy office.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\">The FY\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/Govt\/pages\/janeelawton.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a02020 Jane E. Lawton Conservation Loan Program<\/a>\u00a0 launches today Thursday August 1, 2019, click <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/govt\/Pages\/janeelawton.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. This program continues to support Maryland non-profit organizations, local governments, and businesses. This year, MEA introduced a bill (<a href=\"http:\/\/mgaleg.maryland.gov\/2019RS\/fnotes\/bil_0000\/hb0170.pdf\">House Bill 170)\u00a0\u00a0<\/a>during the 2019 legislative session which allows State Agencies to apply for the Lawton Loan Program. Photo credit Governor&#8217;s office<\/p><\/div>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><strong>Agency Info &amp; Reminders<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\">In June, Governor Larry Hogan today signed the<a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/06\/25\/hogan-administration-announces-energy-saving-initiative-maryland-leads-by-example-reduce-energy-consumption-in-state-owned-buildings-by-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> \u201cMaryland Leads by Example\u201d Executive Order<\/a>, which directs the Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) and MEA to develop and manage an energy savings initiative in state-owned buildings. Read more <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/06\/25\/hogan-administration-announces-energy-saving-initiative-maryland-leads-by-example-reduce-energy-consumption-in-state-owned-buildings-by-10\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here <\/a>and look for new information soon on the <a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MEA website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\">Applications for the FY 19\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/business\/Pages\/EnergyStorage.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Maryland Energy Storage Income Tax Credit Program<\/a>\u00a0are still being accepted until January 15, 2020.\u00a0Maryland made national news in 2017 as the first state in the country to pass a bill allowing taxpayers to claim an income tax credit on energy storage devices.\u00a0This program\u00a0encourage the deployment of energy storage systems.\u00a0Energy storage devices function as battery back-ups, which can be used in conjunction with or without renewable energy sources.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\">MEA helped develop the Maryland Consumers Guide to Solar, designed to be a resource for Maryland residents considering home solar.
