This grant is open to all Maryland commercial, industrial, farms, and other agricultural organizations seeking to implement energy efficiency and conservation improvement projects to their existing or to-be-constructed facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A total of $1.25 million dollars has been allocated for FY20, subject to availability, and the grant will be divided equally between two application windows, as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$625,000 available for applications received in Application Period 1 from June 28 \u2013 October 15, 2019<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">$625,000 available for applications received in Application Period 2 from October 1 \u2013January 15, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If MEA does not award the full Application Period 1 budget, any remaining funds will be added to the Application Period 2 budget.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2803\" style=\"width: 881px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/05\/Hamilton-Assoc-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2803\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2803\" src=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/05\/Hamilton-Assoc-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"871\" height=\"654\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/05\/Hamilton-Assoc-1.jpg 871w, https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/05\/Hamilton-Assoc-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/05\/Hamilton-Assoc-1-768x577.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 871px) 100vw, 871px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2803\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hamilton Associates saved enough energy with their MEA grant to add on a second shift of workers. Read their energy success story <a href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2019\/05\/10\/hamilton-associates-realizes-net-energy-reduction-despite-adding-second-shift\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The FY20 CI&amp;A Program is available for projects that increase the energy efficiency\/improve the energy conservation of electric and non-electric fuel consumption of existing facilities or dedicated spaces within facilities, and for projects that propose to install above code-minimum energy efficient equipment, fixtures, and building materials that affect energy consumption in to-be-constructed facilities. This program does not include transportation fuel usage.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_948\" style=\"width: 570px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/02\/BB-graph.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-948\" class=\"wp-image-948 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/02\/BB-graph.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/02\/BB-graph.jpg 560w, https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/02\/BB-graph-300x113.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-948\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tower Companies were able to focus on low-cost energy conservation measures that yielded astonishing results: a $44,000 retrofit is returning $50,000 in annual energy savings. Read their commercial energy success story <a href=\"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mea\/2017\/02\/23\/tower-companies-discovers-the-power-of-energy-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Projects for existing facilities can apply for up to 50% of the Net Project Cost (defined as Total Cost minus all other incentives, rebates, and leveraged funds), or $100,000, whichever is lower. If a project is making improvements at multiple facilities, the TOTAL award for all facilities under the CI&amp;A program cannot exceed $100,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Projects for &#8220;To-Be-Constructed&#8221; facilities and apply for up to 50% of the Net Project Incremental Cost (defined as Total Cost minus all other incentives, rebates, and leveraged funds AND the cost of energy code-minimum technology, equipment, or building materials\/envelope measures), or $100,000, whichever is lower.
