Photo Credit: Governor&#8217;s office<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The newest cycle of the <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/transportation\/Pages\/afip.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Program (AFIP)<\/a> is now open. This program helps Maryland expand alternative fuel refilling or charging infrastructure. The deadline for all applications is December 31, 2019.\u00a0 The Fiscal Year 202 (FY20) AFIP contains new terms and conditions,\u00a0 as a result of the Chapter 757 of the 2019 Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland (Clean Energy Jobs Act). Please consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/energy.maryland.gov\/transportation\/Documents\/FY20%20AFIP%20Guidelines.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">program guidelines<\/a> for additional information. Photo credit Governor&#8217;s office<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The AFIP has helped to install 130 new electric charging and alternative fueling outlets throughout the state over the past three years.\u00a0 Establishing enough refilling or charging options is critical to consumer confidence.\u00a0 Range anxiety is the fear that a vehicle has insufficient range to reach its destination and would thus strand the vehicle&#8217;s occupants.
