The women of the Maryland Energy Administration celebrate International Women’s Day today, March 8, 2019<\/a>.\u00a0 Standing in the Better for Balance pose, MEA calls for gender parity, a more balanced government and women in STEM.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mary Beth Tung, Ph.D., Esq., was named by Governor Hogan as the Director of the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) on May 17, 2016.<\/p>\n

Dr. Tung works to ensure that Maryland\u2019s energy portfolio benefits Maryland residents, businesses and local government organizations by improving the effective use of all of energy resources available in the state. Dr. Tung oversees nearly 40\u00a0energy related programs including grants that benefit low-to-moderate income families, commercial and industrial entities, and residential. These programs also promote expansion of renewable energy and promotion of energy efficiency for businesses and nonprofit organizations.\u00a0 To read more about Dr. Tung click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Brenda Bloomquist is the Executive Assistant to Dr. Tung at MEA. An accomplished business professional, she organizes the schedule for all MEA official meetings and keeps the team on task.\u00a0Prior to working at MEA, she worked for Northrop Grumman for nearly 30 years as a Senior Executive Assistant. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Jeannine Mianulli\u00a0currently works as an Administrative Assistant at MEA.\u00a0 Prior to her current position, she enjoyed two very diverse and interesting career paths.\u00a0 She worked as a middle school teacher for 18 years while raising her family.\u00a0 After her children were grown she re-entered the medical field, assisting in minor surgical procedures and directly assisting a group of physicians.\u00a0 She also became certified in performing and interpreting bone densities using both the Hologic and Lunar machines.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sherrell Moore is a vital member of the MEA finance team. She has 20 years of experience within the banking and finance industry. She holds a Bachelors in Finance, and will finish her Masters in Finance later this year.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Jenn Gallicchio is the Assistant Director of Energy Programs at MEA.\u00a0 Prior to her current role, she was an MEA energy efficiency program manager, primarily working with local governments and nonprofit organizations.\u00a0 \u00a0She is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Meg Cefail is Grants Administrator for the Residential Clean Energy Grants program<\/a> at MEA and also provides support for the Combined Heat and Power program<\/a>. She has a diverse background in various business and environmental industries.<\/div>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Abigail Peryea is an Energy Grants Administrator for the Low-to-Moderate Energy Efficiency Program<\/a>. She is a graduate of the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kaymie Owen is the MEA Communications Manager and brings over 15 years of experience producing events and campaigns for corporate, government and nonprofit clients both in the U.S. and internationally.\u00a0 A Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), she is proud to be third generation graduate of Ball State University where she received her bachelors from the College of Communications in Public Relations, Japanese, Speech Communications and Asian Studies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
