Caitlin Madera is our Employee of the Month for September. Caitlin is the Energy Program Manager for the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) grant program<\/a>. Previously, Caitlin ran the Maryland Smart Energy Communities (MSEC) grant program<\/a> here at the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). Caitlin has been a regular fixture at MEA outreach events promoting our programs and engaging with local leaders to explain which energy saving programs<\/a> can best help their community<\/a>.\u00a0Caitlin has a\u00a0Bachelor\u2019s of Science in Environmental Science and\u00a0Policy with\u00a0minors\u00a0in Sustainability and Environmental\u00a0Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.\u00a0 Before Caitlin was a program manager, she held\u00a0several\u00a0internships at MEA focusing on wood\/pellet heating<\/a>, residential energy efficiency financing<\/a>, and renewable energy grants. Applications for the newest cycle of the C & I grant program<\/a> are due Monday, December 17, 2018.\u00a0 The C & I grant program\u00a0supports improving the energy efficiency and reducing the energy costs of enterprises in Maryland\u2019s commercial and industrial sector.
