ANNAPOLIS, MD (February 12, 2014)<\/strong>\u00a0— Governor O’Malley issued the following statement today on Maryland’s amicus brief to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit:<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we continue to make great strides in restoring and protecting the Chesapeake Bay, it is critical that we protect our hard-won progress. As a result, I have asked the Attorney General to submit an amicus brief to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in support of the Environmental Protection Agency’s defense of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWhile we have accomplished much, there is still more work to be done and it is imperative that we \u00a0continue our efforts to ensure that \u00a0our nation’s largest estuary, a true national treasure, will be protected for future generations.\u00a0As Chair of the Chesapeake Executive Council, I am encouraging the other states in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed to join Maryland and support the EPA in this effort.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
