The Board is composed of Governor Martin O\u2019Malley, Treasurer Nancy K. Kopp and Comptroller Peter Franchot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">\u201cSafe and reliable drinking water is vital to our public health and to the economy in Maryland,\u201d said Governor O\u2019Malley. \u201cThis project will help to conserve water \u2013 our most essential natural resource &#8212; while creating jobs for more Marylanders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">The following funding was approved today:<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\"><strong>Rawlings Water System Phase III project \u2013 Allegany County<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222\">A $1,312,500 Water Supply Financial Assistance Program grant, along with a $198,000 Drinking Water State Revolving Loan Fund loan, to Allegany County will help fund the Rawlings Water System Phase III project. The project entails the design and construction of a water distribution system in the Rawlings area to replace the existing aging and leaking water system.
