Department of the Environment’s Secretary Grumbles to join students for groundbreaking ceremony Friday at Wellwood International Elementary School in Pikesville
Baltimore, MD (April 20, 2017) – Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Secretary Ben Grumbles will join students at Wellwood International Elementary School in Pikesville tomorrow, Friday April 21 for a groundbreaking ceremony for a new outdoor classroom. The 20-foot by 20-foot classroom will include 13 tree stump “stools” and five wooden benches for student outdoor learning activities. Construction efforts are being completed by students from Wellwood’s Green Team, Owings Mill High School’s Carpentry Program, and parent volunteers.
In addition to the ground breaking, Secretary Grumbles will present the school’s green team and administration with an Earth Month 2017 proclamation from Governor Larry Hogan.
