Department of Environment to Kick Off earth Month Activities With Employee Clean-Up Event on the Banks of the Patapsco River
Baltimore, MD (April 12, 2017) – Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) Secretary Ben Grumbles will kick off the department’s Earth Month activities on Thursday, April 13
from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., participating in an employee clean- up event in partnership with the Patapsco Heritage Greenway.
The group of about 30 employees and community volunteers will remove trash and debris from the parkland areas surrounding the Patapsco River on the border of Baltimore and Anne Arundel counties. The group also will tackle sections along the road. The area is in a floodplain and prone to heavy illegal dumping.
