Secretary Grumbles statement on Supreme Court decision in Carroll County stormwater permit appeal

SECRETARY GRUMBLES STATEMENT ON SUPREME COURT DECISION IN CARROLL COUNTY STORMWATER PERMIT APPEAL

 

BALTIMORE (March 2, 2020) — Maryland Environment Secretary Ben Grumbles issued the following statement in response to the decision today by the Supreme Court of the United States to deny Carroll County’s petition to be heard on its appeal of MDE’s municipal stormwater permit for the county:

“We are more committed than ever to working closely with Carroll County and every other local jurisdiction for environmental stewardship. We appreciate the finality of the court’s decision and will continue to help local governments find practical and affordable solutions to prevent stormwater pollution and protect the Chesapeake Bay.”
