EPA, MDE to update public April 21 on Sparrows Point cleanup

Philadelphia, PA (April 20, 2016) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) will hold a public information meeting on April 21 to update residents on the environmental cleanup plans at the former Sparrows Point steel mill site.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the North Point Branch of the Baltimore County Library at 1716 Merritt Boulevard, Dundalk, Md. 

During the meeting, officials from EPA and MDE will provide updates on the activities related to the investigation and remediation of the site.  This will include results of the off-shore investigation conducted off the western portion of the site and the work plans for the investigation of off-shore conditions along the eastern portion of the site.
