Maryland Green Registry Now Accepting Applications for Annual Leadership Awards

The Maryland Green Registry is now accepting applications for the sixth annual Maryland Green Registry Leadership Awards. Interested organizations should submit an application highlighting their sustainable environmental practices and the measurable results achieved, as well as information about their organization’s commitment to continual improvement in sustainable operations. The Registry is a free program that assists businesses and other organizations by promoting and recognizing sustainable practices. Collectively, Registry members have saved more than $79 million annually through sustainable practices.

The 2015 Maryland Green Registry Leadership Award winners will be announced at the annual awards and membership event July 29, 2015, at Nick’s Fish House in Baltimore.

Maryland Green Registry 2013 Leadership AwardsThe Maryland Green Registry includes more than 450 member organizations of all types and sizes including businesses, schools, and government facilities. The online member profiles help to inspire other organizations by sharing practical, proven practices that reduce environmental impacts and save money.

Past Leadership Awards have gone to British American Auto Care Inc., CertainTeed Corporation, Coca Cola Refreshments, CSX, Elysian Energy, Fitzgerald Auto Malls, Goodwill Industries International, GM Baltimore Transmission Plant, Hub Labels, JBS International, La Prima Food Group, Life Technologies, Lucy School, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, National Aquarium, Oakland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salisbury University, Sims Recycling Solutions, St. Mary’s County Public Schools, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Union Hospital of Cecil County, University of Maryland College Park and Staples.

  • Applicants must be members of the Maryland Green Registry. To join this freeprogram, Maryland organizations should visit the Maryland Green Registry website and complete a best practices profile.
  • Maryland Green Registry Leadership Award Winners represent a variety of facility types and sizes, but all have several key factors in common that contribute to their success: an organization-wide commitment to environmental performance, a green team that meets on a regular basis, annual environmental goals and measurement of results.
  • The 2015 Maryland Green Registry Leadership Award winners will be presented at the annual awards and membership event, 5:30 p.m., July 29, 2015, at Nick’s Fish House in Baltimore.
