WILLIAMSPORT, Md. – There may have been a rainstorm, but the sun still shined brightly on Earth Day in Washington County.
Government and business leaders activated the county’s newest solar field at Kemps Mill Park near Williamsport. Their ultimate goal is to become the first county in Maryland to generate 100 percent of its own green power on its own property.
“I’m going to have to start calling Washington County ‘Solar County,'” said Benjamin Grumbles, Maryland’s Secretary of the Environment. “It is really becoming the solar powerhouse for the state.”….
