\"MDA<\/a>Annapolis, MD \u2014 The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather input from vendors, businesses, and individuals offering technologies, equipment, infrastructure, or services that can improve the management and utilization of manure and other agricultural waste resources.<\/p>\n

Maryland\u2019s nutrient management regulations govern the amount, timing, and placement of crop nutrients including manure and other organic nutrient sources. Compliance with Maryland\u2019s nutrient management regulations may be improved by altering the nutrient content of organic nutrient resources, changing its form to improve management and handling, or developing new uses for manure resources such as energy generation or new products that add value to the farm business model.<\/p>\n

MDA has $2.5 million available to invest in these types of innovative technologies during State Fiscal Year 2014, which ends June 30, 2014. MDA plans to solicit projects later this year.<\/p>\n

Vendors, businesses and individuals are invited to respond to this RFI by completing a questionnaire that will be available October 2 on the MDA website at www.mda.maryland.gov<\/a>. Completed questionnaires should be sent or faxed by close of business on Wednesday October 16, to<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
