ANNAPOLIS, MD \u2013 In celebration of Maryland\u2019s ice cream trail, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown and Maryland Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance will visit Chesapeake Bay Farms tomorrow to encourage all Marylanders to enjoy fresh, delicious ice cream. The Maryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Trail includes eight farms that stretch over more than 290 miles from Ocean City in the east to Washington County in the west. Under the program, people pick up an Ice Cream Trail Passport at any of the eight creameries (or online<\/a>), answer a question and have it \u201cstamped\u201d at each creamery. \nLt. Governor Brown and Secretary Hance will visit a Worcester County farm-based creamery that is on the \u201cMaryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Trail.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nTo highlight the important contributions of Maryland\u2019s 496 dairy farms which accounted for $188 million in sales in 2012; and to increase the public\u2019s general understanding of dairy farming by encouraging them to visit a farm and see what dairy farming is really like, all while enjoying delicious, locally-produced ice cream.<\/p>\n
