Treatment is scheduled to occur via aerial spraying the <\/span><b>evening of Monday, August 31, 2026<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. In the case of inclement weather, spraying will take place the following evening of Tuesday, September 1, 2026.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The following areas of Dorchester County will be treated: Andrews, Bishops Head, Black Water, Crapo, Crocheron, Lakesville, Robbins, Toddville, Wesley and Wingate. Approximately 13,626 acres will be sprayed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A twin engine, white plane with red and blue stripes, will apply Trumpet throughout the targeted region, from a height of approximately 300-500 feet above the ground. The aircraft\u2019s registration number is N903MD. Trumpet is a formula containing <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/mosquitocontrol\/naled-mosquito-control\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">naled<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and will be applied at less than 1.0 fluid ounce per acre. Naled is one of the most commonly-used insecticides in the United States for mosquito control and it is not necessary for people, pets or livestock to leave the area during the spraying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This notice satisfies Federal Aviation Administration requirements of notifying the public before aerial spraying occurs over communities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Please contact MDA\u2019s Salisbury office with any questions or concerns at (410) 543-6626.
