ANNAPOLIS, MD (May 23, 2025)<\/strong>\u2014\u00a0\u00a0Maryland\u2019s Best<\/strong>, Maryland\u2019s statewide marketing program connecting consumers to farmers, and\u00a0Maryland Secretary of Agriculture Kevin Atticks<\/strong>\u00a0officially kicked off the\u00a02025 Maryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Trail<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Misty Meadows Farm Creamery<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Washington County<\/strong>. Announcing new additions to the trail and new prizes for participants, the Secretary and Maryland\u2019s Best team members celebrated the start of this popular summer tradition over farm fresh ice cream!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After receiving feedback about how to locate and track creameries visited on the trail, Maryland\u2019s Best is excited to announce a streamlined digital check-in experience to help consumers document their ice cream adventures! Consumers can download the\u00a0Let\u2019s Rallie<\/a>\u00a0app on Apple or Android phones for free to see all locations available on the trail, each featuring a unique QR code to scan and check-in. New prizes are up for grabs for check-ins as well as the ultimate prize, the\u00a02025 Maryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Trailblazer<\/strong>, awarded to a winner completing the entire trail.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith 14 stops this year, I am going to need a bigger freezer!\u201d said Secretary Atticks. \u201cThese types of trails are more than just fun, they also allow dairy farms to be more profitable by giving farmers an option to build markets for their value-added products. I encourage all Marylanders and out-of-state visitors alike to download the app and start checking-in today!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again in 2025, MDA has partnered with the\u00a0Maryland Department of Natural Resources<\/strong>\u00a0by encouraging consumers to get out and hike before or after their ice cream treat at state trails located near each creamery location. Check-in for hikes using the Let\u2019s Rallie app will have access to separate prizes and anyone who also completes all 14 hikes and ice cream trail stops together will be entered to win an annual State Parks pass.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhether you want to explore the mountains of western Maryland or the coastal plains of the Eastern Shore, we\u2019ve done the work to help you find a hike near these wonderful creameries,\u201d said\u00a0Department of Natural Resources Sec. Josh Kurtz<\/strong>. \u201cOne of the best ways to motivate your kids\u2013or your friends\u2013to join you on a hike is to let them know about the ice cream you\u2019ll enjoy afterwards. We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful parks and natural areas.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to tracking stops on the Let\u2019s Rallie app, Trailblazers may still participate by taking photos at each location and sending them to\u00a0icecream.trail1@maryland.gov<\/a>\u00a0once the entire trail has been completed. Participants are encouraged to share their progress on social media by tagging Maryland\u2019s Best (@mdsbest, @mdsbestag) and the location they are visiting.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2025 Ice Cream Trail features 14 on-farm creameries stretching more than 145 miles from Maryland\u2019s mountains to the Eastern Shore, producing and selling their ice cream directly to consumers. Each stop offers insight into the Maryland dairy industry and the important contributions of Maryland\u2019s nearly 300 dairy farms. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture 2022 Census of Agriculture, Maryland dairy farms produced 101,910,631.39 gallons of milk!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2025 Ice Cream Trail on-farm creameries include:\u00a0Prigel Family Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Baltimore County),\u00a0Deliteful Dairy<\/a>\u00a0(Washington County),\u00a0Glamourview Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Frederick County),\u00a0Happy Cow Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Frederick County),\u00a0Moo Cow Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Frederick County),\u00a0South Mountain Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Frederick County),\u00a0Rocky Point Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Frederick County),\u00a0Broom\u2019s Bloom Dairy<\/a>\u00a0(Harford County),\u00a0Lockbriar Farms<\/a>\u00a0(Kent County),\u00a0Keyes Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Harford County),\u00a0Woodbourne Creamery at Rock Hill Orchard<\/a>\u00a0(Montgomery County),\u00a0Misty Meadow Farm Creamery<\/a>\u00a0(Washington County),\u00a0Miller Farms<\/a>\u00a0(Prince George\u2019s County) and\u00a0Chesapeake Bay Farms<\/a>\u00a0(Worcester County).<\/span><\/p>\n

Those completing all 14 check-ins via the app or e-mail will then be entered to win the \u201c2025 Maryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Trailblazer\u201d prize pack including a $50 gift certificate to the on-farm creamery of their choice, a copy of the children\u2019s book \u201cTales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck\u2019s Ice Cream Wish,\u201d and the 2025 Maryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Champion Trailblazer trophy. The Maryland\u2019s Best Ice Cream Trail\u2019s 2025 season officially began on May 22 and will run through September 1.<\/span><\/p>\n
