ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 28, 2024)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Maryland\u2019s Best<\/strong>, an agriculture and seafood marketing program under the\u00a0Maryland Department of Agriculture<\/strong>, has announced the\u00a0Eat Like a Marylander<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Thanksgiving<\/strong>\u00a0campaign, highlighting Maryland farms and harvesters using all local products in their Thanksgiving boxes this year! Several farms throughout the state will offer pre-ordered meal boxes, with locally grown and sourced products, that have all you need for that perfect Thanksgiving meal.\u00a0 Participating farms include\u00a0Moon Valley Farm<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Woodsboro,\u00a0Jones Family Farm<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in Edgewood, and\u00a0Emily\u2019s Produce<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in Cambridge.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe see an increased demand for local foods, but people don\u2019t always know where to find it,\u201d said\u00a0Maryland Department of Agriculture Secretary Kevin Atticks<\/strong>. \u201cWe know that families don\u2019t want to go to multiple stops to pick up their grocery items so this box allows a one-stop visit for all their Thanksgiving needs.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to offering produce from their farm, Moon Valley Farm will also include products from\u00a078 Acres<\/a>,\u00a0Sassafras Creek Farm<\/a>,\u00a0Springfield Farm<\/a>,\u00a0Twin Bears Bakery<\/a>, and Liberty Delights Farm<\/a>\u00a0in their boxes. With Moon Valley, consumers can also purchase oysters from\u00a0True Chesapeake Oyster<\/a>s! Additionally, $15 of every box will go towards providing a box for a family in need. Moon Valley Farms will offer multiple pick-up locations in Baltimore, Frederick, Annapolis, Montgomery County, Northern Virginia, and the Greater DC area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jones Family Farms offers a pickup location in Edgewood, and includes produce from their farm and fresh turkeys from\u00a0Albright Farms<\/a>. Jones Family Farm will offer several sizes of turkeys and will have an option to add Maryland crab meat from\u00a0Chesapeake Brand Seafood<\/a>\u00a0in Easton for an additional cost.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Emily\u2019s Produce will have multiple-sized turkeys to choose from as well as plenty of produce for your favorite sides. You can also add on Maryland oysters, pies, and charcuterie boards for an additional fee. For every Thanksgiving order and Maryland’s Best Box that is purchased, Emily’s Produce will donate 1 pound of fresh food to their non-profit partners.<\/span><\/p>\n
