S<\/b>eason 10 finale filmed at the Carroll County Farm Museum in Westminster<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

ANNAPOLIS, MD (March 3, 2023) \u2013 <\/b>Maryland Public Television\u2019s series <\/span>Maryland Farm & Harvest<\/span><\/i><\/a> will celebrate its 10<\/span>th<\/span> anniversary with a special season-ending retrospective episode premiering on Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The popular weekly series has taken viewers on a journey across the Free State over the course of 127 episodes, telling engaging and enlightening stories about the farms, people, and technology required to sustain and grow agriculture in Maryland, the state\u2019s number one commercial industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

More than 15 million viewers have watched <\/span>Maryland Farm & Harvest<\/span><\/i> since its fall 2013 debut. The series has traveled to more than 400 farms, fisheries, wineries, and other agriculture-related locations during its 10 seasons, covering every Maryland county, as well as Baltimore City, and Washington, D.C.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see the response we get from people we talk to across the state,\u201d said Robert Ferrier, series producer. \u201cFarmers love being on the show and our viewers look forward to every new episode.\u00a0 Its popularity continues to grow even 10 seasons into production, and all of us at MPT who work on it are honored to tell these stories.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During the March 7 episode, Emmy\u00ae Award-winning series host Joanne Clendining shares her fondest memories and favorite farm locations from the last decade. Clendining also leads a roundtable discussion featuring \u201cThe Local Buy\u201d segment host Al Spoler and a group of the series\u2019 producers and its primary videographer. Plus, viewers get a behind the scenes look at how the show is made.<\/span><\/p>\n

The season finale was filmed at the <\/span>Carroll County Farm Museum<\/span><\/a> in Westminster and includes an appearance by Scott Holniker, the museum\u2019s retired curator.\u00a0 Holniker provides the show with what it calls a \u201cThingamajig\u201d \u2013 often an antique and obscure tool used on farms during a bygone era. Clendining shows the item to viewers and challenges them to identify it before explaining its history and use near the end of each episode.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he <\/span>Maryland Department of Agriculture<\/span><\/a> is co-production partner for <\/span>Maryland Farm & Harvest<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMaryland is very fortunate to have had\u00a0these 10\u00a0seasons\u00a0of\u00a0<\/span>Maryland Farm & Harvest <\/span><\/i>programming,\u201d said Maryland Department of Agriculture Acting Secretary Kevin Atticks. \u201cThe stories are entertaining, educational, and important.\u00a0 By providing an in-depth look at various types of farming operations\u00a0and the people who grow our food, MPT helps viewers improve their understanding and appreciation for the agricultural industry, which is an integral part of Maryland\u2019s heritage and economic strength.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Maryland Farm & Harvest<\/span><\/i> airs on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on MPT-HD and online at <\/span>mpt.org\/livestream<\/span><\/i><\/a>.<\/span><\/i> Encore broadcasts are available on MPT-HD Thursdays at 11 p.m. and Sundays at 6 a.m. Each episode also airs on MPT2\/Create\u00ae on Fridays at 7:30 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
