Funding is available for farmers in Caroline, Kent, Queen Anne\u2019s, and Talbot counties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Interested farmers should contact their local soil conservation district by November 20 to apply for this program. Conservation practices eligible for funding and technical assistance through this grant include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adaptive management;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Multi-species cover crops;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Conservation crop rotations;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Variable rate technology for applying nutrients;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Residual and tillage management;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Precision nutrient management;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Edge-of-field tools to identify and reduce agricultural sources of excess nutrients;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Composting;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Forage and biomass plantings; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Other practices that support soil health.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This special grant opportunity allows farmers to gain experience using the latest technological advances that enhance soil health.
