MPT\u2019s production team filmed episode segments at more than four dozen farms in preparation for its seventh season.<\/p>\n<p>The episode opens with introductions at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.starbright-farm.com\/\">Star Bright Farm<\/a> in Baltimore County\u2019s White Hall community. Other segments featured on this week\u2019s episode include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Farming in Winter<\/em><\/strong><strong> (Kent County): <\/strong>Despite being in the middle of winter, there\u2019s no shortage of work to be done at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Hill+Haven+Farm+LLC\/@39.2862792,-75.98015,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m11!1m5!8m4!1e2!2s102267293552172834915!3m1!1e1!3m4!1s0x89c78e1ba8c411b9:0x7ab44941ec0f5ebf!8m2!3d39.2862751!4d-75.977956\">Hill Haven Farm<\/a> in Kennedyville. There are animals to feed, farm equipment to repair, and seed corn to sell in preparation for spring planting. Viewers find that even in the so-called \u201coff-season,\u201d a farmer\u2019s work is never really done.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Poultry Flock Management <\/em><\/strong><strong>(Caroline County): <\/strong>With more than 300 million \u201cbroilers\u201d \u2013 meat chickens \u2013 produced annually, poultry is big business in Maryland. As a contract grower, Jamie Robinette\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Way-Moore-Farms-339242583216303\/\">Way Moore Farms<\/a> in Federalsburg grows chickens on behalf of international producer <a href=\"https:\/\/mountaire.com\/\">Mountaire Farms<\/a>, which provides him with the resources necessary to grow his birds. Viewers meet the Robinette family and gain greater understanding of the state\u2019s poultry supply chain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>High Oleic Soybeans <\/em><\/strong><strong>(Harford, Wicomico, and Queen Anne\u2019s counties):<\/strong> In Maryland, soybeans are second only to corn in total acreage farmed. From tofu to toothpaste and even car interiors, the small beans are used to make all kinds of goods. Through visits to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.furmanos.com\/schmidt-family-farms\">Schmidt Family Farms<\/a> in Sudlersville; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Holloway-Brothers-Farms-216480695184214\/\">Holloway Brothers Farms<\/a> in Darlington; <a href=\"http:\/\/go.bensonhillbio.com\/emerge\">Schillinger Genetics<\/a> in Queenstown, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perdue.com\/\">Perdue Farms<\/a> in Salisbury, viewers learn about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdsoy.com\/\">Maryland Soybean Board\u2019s<\/a> Soybean Checkoff program and its role in helping to develop high-oleic soybeans, a recent innovation designed to produce new food and industrial uses for soybean oil.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>The Local Buy: Crabcake.com <\/em><\/strong><strong>(Dorchester and Queen Anne\u2019s counties): <\/strong>Segment host Al Spoler visits <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crabcake.com\/\">Angelina\u2019s Crab Cakes<\/a> in Stevensville, which ships the Maryland delicacy across the country through its website, <em>com<\/em>. Then, Spoler visits the <a href=\"https:\/\/jmclayton.com\/\">J.M.
