Governor to Recognize Buy Local Challenge Week with Cookout Featuring Local Recipes<\/span><\/i><\/h3>\n

ANNAPOLIS, MD \u2013 <\/b>Governor Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan will host the 12th annual Governor\u2019s Buy Local Cookout and officially recognize Maryland\u2019s Buy Local Challenge Week, which challenges Marylanders to incorporate at least one locally grown, produced or harvested product into their meals each day. <\/span>Sixteen teams of local producers and chefs will prepare creative recipes<\/span><\/a> for the cookout showcasing the diversity of local products available in Maryland. First Lady Yumi Hogan and Government House chefs will prepare an entr\u00e9e and dessert for the cookout.<\/span><\/p>\n

Maryland’s Buy Local Challenge Week <\/span><\/a>is July 20-28. Buying locally preserves farmland, protects the environment, bolsters local economies, and provides nutritious, fresh food.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
