ANNAPOLIS, MD\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Today, Maryland Agriculture Secretary Joe Bartenfelder visited Immanuel Lutheran Nursery School and Federalsburg Elementary School to read Right This Very Minute<\/em>, this year\u2019s official book of the Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation (MAEF) Ag Literacy Program<\/a>. The book takes readers on a journey from table-to-farm, breaking down how farmers and agriculture are involved in each and every meal we eat.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe students of the Immanuel Lutheran Nursery School and Federalsburg Elementary School will play a critical role in the future of agriculture,\u201d said Secretary Bartenfelder. \u201cAs younger generations are further removed from the farm, it is crucial to educate them on where their food comes from and the incredible effort it takes by farmers and producers to feed our state. I am happy to spend time with these young students so we can stress the important role agriculture plays in their lives every single day\u2014providing food, fiber, and nutrition.\u201d<\/p>\n
