\"\"ANNAPOLIS, MD\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 The Maryland Department of Agriculture will host a wholesale local food trade show on\u00a0Wednesday, January 23, at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis from\u00a010 a.m. until 2 p.m<\/strong>.\u00a0The purpose of this expo is to provide an opportunity for Maryland farmers, producers, and processors to connect with buyers.<\/p>\n

The event\u2014formerly known as the Buyer Grower Expo\u2014drew more than 400 registrants in 2018. Participants include buyers from grocery retailers, restaurants, schools, institutions, and other venues. Also attending will be distributors, economic development officials, extension agents, and county agricultural marketing officials. The event showcases a wide range of local products including: fruits and vegetables, meats (beef, chicken, turkey, etc.), seafood (aquaculture oysters), and specialty products (locally-made cheese, ice cream, soup, chocolate, coffee, flour, wine, and more).<\/p>\n
