{"id":22390,"date":"2018-08-01T13:35:40","date_gmt":"2018-08-01T17:35:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mda\/?p=22390"},"modified":"2018-08-01T13:35:40","modified_gmt":"2018-08-01T17:35:40","slug":"public-notice-unscheduled-mosquito-control-spraying-in-prince-georges-county-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mda\/press-release\/2018\/08\/01\/public-notice-unscheduled-mosquito-control-spraying-in-prince-georges-county-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Notice: Unscheduled Mosquito Control Spraying in Prince George\u2019s County"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: left\" align=\"center\"><em>Spraying Scheduled for Wednesday Evening<\/em><\/h3>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>ANNAPOLIS, MD <\/strong>\u2013 The Maryland Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Prince George\u2019s County Health Department will expand mosquito control services in multiple areas tonight due to a public health concern over the potential for mosquito-borne diseases.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) truck-based spraying to control adult mosquitoes is scheduled for this evening in the following neighborhoods: Beaver Heights, Chapel Oaks, Cedar Heights, Cheverly, and Englewood. The area also includes Cabin Branch Industrial Center and Maryland 50 Industrial Park.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Spraying will occur after 7:30 p.m., weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, the department will re-schedule for the next available day. Any existing spray exemptions in the area will be temporarily suspended. People should avoid outdoor activities on spray nights.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">While not all mosquitoes carry diseases, the Maryland Department of Agriculture suggests that residents take precautions to minimize their exposure to mosquito bites.
