Governor to Recognize Buy Local Challenge Week with Cookout Featuring Local Recipes\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n

ANNAPOLIS, MD<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Governor\u00a0Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan will host the 11th<\/sup>\u00a0annual Governor\u2019s Buy Local Cookout and officially recognize Maryland\u2019s Buy Local Challenge Week, which challenges Marylanders to incorporate at least one locally grown, produced or harvested product into their meals each day.\u00a0At the Governor\u2019s cookout,\u00a016 teams of local producers and chefs<\/a>\u00a0will prepare creative recipes showcasing the diversity of local products available in Maryland.\u00a0First Lady Yumi Hogan and Government House chefs will prepare an entr\u00e9e and dessert for the cookout.<\/p>\n

Maryland Buy Local Challenge Week<\/a>\u00a0is July 21-29.\u00a0 Buying locally preserves farmland, protects the environment, bolsters local economies, and provides wholesome, nutritious, great-tasting fresh food.\u00a0 For more information:\u00a0http:\/\/mda.maryland.gov\/Pages\/Buy-Local-Cookout.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n
