ANNAPOLIS, MD <\/strong>\u2013 The following is a statement attributable to Maryland Secretary of Agriculture Joe Bartenfelder in response to the \u201cHealthy Soils Act\u201d legislation signed into law today by Governor Larry Hogan:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Maryland Department of Agriculture is pleased to see the \u2018Maryland Healthy Soils Act\u2019 (HB 1063) signed into law. This bill will help us continue to educate Marylanders and promote healthy soil practices while meeting important goals set by the state\u2019s Climate Change Commission. Our farmers have shown an incredible commitment to improving and protecting our environment, and I look forward to building on that progress.\u201d<\/p>\n
