This is the first completed project funded by the Maryland Department of Agriculture\u2019s Animal Waste Technology Fund, and is implemented by Green Mountain Technologies.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The EarthFlow composting system processes manure from the farm\u2019s 25-stall barn. The state-of-the art system can process batches of 1.5 tons of horse manure in two weeks, and reduce nutrient and input volume by about 50 percent.\u00a0 Finished compost is utilized as bedding and on pastureland.
