The series puts a human face on Maryland agriculture by telling stories of the people, skills and technology required to sustain and grow the state\u2019s number one industry. Episode 407 will premiere <strong>Tuesday, December 27, at 7 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Joanne Clendining, who earned an Emmy\u00ae from the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter (NCCBC) of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences for her work as\u00a0<em>Maryland Farm &amp; Harvest<\/em>\u00a0host, returns for season four.\u00a0 Joining Joanne is Contributing Editor Al Spoler, who serves up the\u00a0<em>Local Buy<\/em>\u00a0segment during each episode.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Featured on this week\u2019s episode<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/monnettfarms.com\/\"><strong>Monnett Farms<\/strong><\/a><strong> in Calvert County<\/strong>. \u00a0Jamie Tiralla, part of this fourth generation family farm in Prince Frederick, is among two dozen participants in the <a href=\"http:\/\/extension.umd.edu\/lead-maryland\/fellowship-program\">LEAD Maryland Fellowship Program<\/a>.\u00a0 The two-year leadership development program teaches skills used by individuals engaged in activities related to agriculture, the food industry, natural resources, or rural communities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gregory N. Turner Farms in Caroline County<\/strong>. Farmer Greg Turner had a beautiful crop of cucumbers this past summer, but found that other farmers had a surplus of cucumbers as well.\u00a0 When Turner\u2019s processor pulled out of the deal they had set up, the farmer was left with more than $50,000 worth of cucumbers.\u00a0 Fortunately, Turner had purchased crop insurance and was able to prevent a serious financial loss.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plantmasters-117662351577416\/?ref=bookmarks\"><strong>PlantMasters<\/strong><\/a> <strong>at Montgomery County. <\/strong>Gaithersburg flower farmers Carol and Leon Carrier manage two acres in a residential neighborhood, and have been selling their blooms at area farmers markets for nearly 40 years.<\/li>\n<li><em>The Local Buy<\/em> segment travels to <a href=\"http:\/\/soleadolavender.com\/\"><strong>Soleado Lavender Farm<\/strong><\/a><strong> in Montgomery County<\/strong>, where host Al Spoler gets a taste of lavender honey made by the bees at the Dickerson farm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>The series airs on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on MPT-HD<\/strong> and is rebroadcast on Thursdays at 11:30 p.m. and Sundays at 6 a.m. Each show also airs on MPT2 on Fridays at 7 p.m.\u00a0 For more information visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpt.org\/farm\"><em>mpt.org\/farm<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">The Maryland Department of Agriculture is MPT\u2019s co-production partner for <em>Maryland Farm &amp; Harvest<\/em>.
