{"id":20643,"date":"2016-08-24T14:34:27","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T18:34:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mda\/?p=20643"},"modified":"2016-08-24T14:34:27","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T18:34:27","slug":"public-notice-state-ag-department-to-increase-mosquito-control-activities-in-prince-georges-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.maryland.gov\/mda\/press-release\/2016\/08\/24\/public-notice-state-ag-department-to-increase-mosquito-control-activities-in-prince-georges-county\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC NOTICE:\u00a0 State Ag Department to Increase Mosquito Control Activities in Prince George\u2019s County"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 align=\"center\"><\/h2>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>ANNAPOLIS, MD<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Maryland Department of Agriculture, in cooperation with Prince George\u2019s County Health Department will expand mosquito control services in Riverdale due to a public health concern over the potential for mosquito-borne diseases, including West Nile virus and Zika virus.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Mosquito control truck-based spraying will occur on Wednesday, August 24,\u00a0weather permitting, in Riverdale Park area of Riverdale.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Spraying will begin at or after 7:30 p.m. Any existing spray exemptions in the area will be temporarily suspended. People should avoid outdoor activities on spray nights.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Please cooperate with state and local officials who may be in your neighborhood working to protect public health.
