Also on hand will be representatives from USDA who will present a national proclamation for National Farmers Week to Secretary Bartenfelder and the market managers.<\/p>\n<p>The Crofton market is in its second year of operation.\u00a0 Farmers Market Week encourages citizens to visit farmers markets and buy local products. \u00a0Consumers can find a farmers market near them by visiting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marylandsbest.net\/\">Maryland&#8217;s Best<\/a> website. There are currently 147 farmers markets in Maryland \u2014 at least one in each county and Baltimore city. Maryland farmers markets generated $51 million dollars in total sales, with more than 2.3 million consumers visiting the markets last year, according to a 2015 survey by the Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Maryland Farmers Market Association.
