Governor to Recognize Buy Local Challenge Week with Cookout Featuring Local Recipes\u00a0 <\/em><\/h3>\n

ANNAPOLIS, MD<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Governor\u00a0Larry Hogan and First Lady Yumi Hogan will host the ninth annual Governor\u2019s Buy Local Cookout and officially recognize Maryland\u2019s Buy Local Challenge Week, which challenges Marylanders to incorporate at least one locally grown, produced or harvested product into their meals each day.\u00a0At the Governor\u2019s cookout, 17 teams of local producers and chefs will prepare creative recipes showcasing the diversity of local products available in Maryland.\u00a0First Lady Yumi Hogan and Government House chefs will prepare an entr\u00e9e, salad and dessert for the cookout.<\/p>\n

Maryland Buy Local Challenge Week<\/a> is July 23-31.\u00a0 Buying locally preserves farmland, protects the environment, bolsters local economies, and provides wholesome, nutritious, great-tasting fresh food.\u00a0 For more information: http:\/\/mda.maryland.gov\/Pages\/Buy-Local-Cookout.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n
