Winning Teams from 19 Maryland Counties to Compete in Frederick County<\/em><\/h3>\n

ANNAPOLIS, MD (June 13, 2016) \u2013<\/strong> While most high school students have wrapped up final exams and tossed their backpacks aside for the summer, more than 100 of Maryland’s brightest teenagers will be competing at the 26th<\/sup> annual Maryland Envirothon on June 22 and 23 in Frederick County. The Envirothon is a rigorous two-day\u00a0outdoor natural resources competition for teens passionate about the outdoors and the environment. Student teams will compete in five areas of environmental studies: soil\/land use, aquatics ecology, forestry, wildlife, and this year\u2019s environmental issue: invasive species.\u00a0 The winning team will represent Maryland at the North American Envirothon at Trent University in Petersburg, Ontario, Canada later this summer.<\/p>\n

What:\u00a0<\/strong>The 26th<\/sup> Annual Maryland Envirothon competition for high school students.<\/p>\n

Where:\u00a0<\/strong>Mount St. Mary\u2019s College, 16300 Old Emmitsburg Rd.,\u00a0Emmitsburg, MD 21727 (Frederick County)<\/p>\n

When:\u00a0<\/strong>June 22 \u2013 1 to 5 p.m. \u2013 Student Field Training<\/em><\/strong>
\nJune 23 \u2013 8 to 11:30 a.m. \u2013 Competition<\/em><\/strong>
\n1 to 2 p.m. \u2013 Awards Presentation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\n– Dorchester County: North Dorchester High School
\n– Frederick County:\u00a0 Urbana High School \u2013 Mundane School
\n– Garrett County: Northern Garrett High School \u2013 Northern Lights Team #1
\n– Harford County: Harford Christian school
\n– Howard County: Wilde Lake High School
\n– Kent County: Kent County High School
\n– Montgomery County: Richard Montgomery High School \u2013 Militant Platypodes
