Teams that won county level competitions are competing for state honors:\u00a0 Allegany, Allegany High School; Anne Arundel, South River High School; Baltimore County, Hereford High School; Baltimore City, Western High School; Calvert County, Calvert High School; Carroll, Boy Scout Venturing Crew 202; Caroline County, Colonel Richardson High School; Cecil County, The Tome School; Charles County, La Plata High School; Dorchester County, Cambridge South Dorchester High School; Frederick County, Catoctin High School; Garrett County, Northern Garret High School; Harford County, Harford Christian School; Howard County, Wilde Lake High School; Montgomery County, Montgomery Blair High School; Prince George\u2019s County, Oxon Hill High School; St. Mary\u2019s County, Leonardtown High School; Talbot County, Sts. Peter and Paul High School; Washington County, Clear Spring High School; Worcester County, Pocomoke High School.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>What:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Students taking part in the Maryland Envirothon have been studying the state&#8217;s natural resources for the past year.\u00a0 In written tests, five member teams demonstrate their knowledge of soils, forestry, aquatics, wildlife, and this year\u2019s special environmental issue:\u00a0 Protection of Groundwater through Urban, Agricultural and Environmental Planning.\u00a0 Teamwork and problem solving skills are evaluated by natural resource professionals.\u00a0 The winner of the Maryland Envirothon\u00a0 represents the state at the Canon Envirothon, North America\u2019s largest outdoor environmental competition.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Where:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>William S.
