Passing this exam is required to become certified as a Compost Facility Operator. Individuals who want to take the exam must register with Registration Supervisor Phil Davidson at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:%28410%29%20841-2721\">(410) 841-2721<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:philip.davidson@maryland.gov\">philip.davidson@maryland.gov<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The State of Maryland regulates the commercial composting process to ensure that the finished product will benefit plants and customers as intended. Those products are registered with the\u00a0State Chemist as soil conditioners or composts.
