Truman Parkway, Annapolis. The meeting is open to the public and will focus on soil conservation and water quality programs. Established in 1938, the State Soil Conservation Committee coordinates the activities of Maryland&#8217;s 24 soil conservation districts, while advising the Secretary of Agriculture on matters relating to soil and water conservation.\u00a0 For more information, contact Louise Lawrence, executive secretary, 410-841-5863.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\"><strong>Nutrient Management Update Course Set for March 24<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Maryland Department of Agriculture and University of Maryland Extension will sponsor a Nutrient Management Update course on Wednesday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Frederick Extension Office, 330 Montevue Lane, Frederick.\u00a0 Topics covered include the latest information on Maryland\u2019s nutrient management regulations, manure spreader calibration, manure ammonium conservation factors, NuMan Pro 3.0 nutrient management software, pre-sidedress soil nitrate testing and corn stalk nitrate testing. This program awards four Maryland Nutrient Management Program continuing education credits. To register, contact Terry Poole at the Frederick County Extension Office, 301-600-3577, or <a href=\"mailto:tepoole@umd.edu\">tepoole@umd.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">University of Maryland Hosts Alumni Dinner April 14<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Alumni Chapter of the University of Maryland\u2019s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources will celebrate student and faculty excellence at its 43th annual awards dinner Wednesday, April 14, at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center.\u00a0 All graduating seniors will be guests of the dean and alumni chapter.
