Maryland Department of Agriculture to Host Foreign Markets Seminar
ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA) will host a seminar on export opportunities with experts from Canada, China, the European Union, and India on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Hotel Annapolis from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. At the seminar attendees will learn about sales opportunities for seafood and agricultural products in these four key markets.
“International markets create more opportunities for Maryland producers and processors to grow their businesses, reach new consumers, and provide relief when local demand decreases,” said Secretary Joe Bartenfelder. “I encourage local producers and processors to take advantage of this marketing opportunity to learn how exporting can expand their operations.”
SUSTA, an organization of state agricultural departments including the Maryland Department of Agriculture, offers a 50 percent cost share for smaller companies selling products of at least 50 percent U.S. origin. Participants will learn how to apply for and to use this program to cut international marketing costs.
Registration for the seminar is open and companies are encouraged to register online by creating a My SUSTA Account here. The seminar registration fee is $30 and includes lunch provided by the Hotel Annapolis.
