MD Producers Invited to Apply to Participate in Outbound Trade Missions this Summer
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Maryland companies interested in food and agriculture export opportunities are invited to apply to participate in two out-bound trade missions this summer.
SUSTA Sponsored Trade Mission to China (August 7-12, 2016)
Maryland agricultural companies are invited to join the Maryland Department of Agriculture on a Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA) sponsored three city out-bound trade mission to China. As a growing and well established market, China is an ideal target for many southern U.S. food and agriculture exports. Participants will have pre-arranged one-on-one meetings in Beijing, Da Lian and Shenzhen. The cost is $600. The following is included in the cost: in-country airfare for the trade mission (limited to one representative per company), ground transportation for tours and one-on-one meetings, interpreter service and shipping for up to 50 pounds of product samples, and market tours. Participants are responsible for international airfare and hotel. Deadline for registration is May 1, 2016. USDA Sponsored Trade Mission to Ukraine and Romania (June 11-18, 2016)
Acting Deputy Secretary of Agriculture Michael Scuse will lead a trade mission June 11-18, 2016 to create export opportunities for U.S. agriculture in Ukraine and Romania. Participants will have a unique opportunity to forge relationships with potential customers and trading partners, interact with host government officials, and gather market intelligence that will help them develop strategies to start or expand sales in these important Eastern European markets.
