MDA Schedules Public Briefings on the Revised Phosphorus Management Tool Regulations
ANNAPOLIS, MD – The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) will host a series of public briefings across the state for farmers, environmental interests, local governments and other stakeholders on the Phosphorus Management Tool revised regulations.
During these briefings, MDA will explain the Phosphorus Management Tool regulations and the process by which they were developed and revised. MDA will also outline resources available to farmers to help them manage the impact of the regulations as well as answer any questions or address any concerns farmers may have. The briefings aim to inform farmers of the new proposal prior to the 30-day public comment period, which begins with publication in the Maryland Register anticipated for Oct. 18, 2013.
MDA will hold three public briefings as follows:
